Albert Heijn Apartheid Free

BDS Netherlands is campaigning to get Israeli produce out of the Dutch supermarkets. We love to get your financial support for this.

For almost a year now, Israel has been engaged in a ruthless attack on Gaza. More than forty thousand Palestinians have been murdered and almost two million people have been displaced. The war crimes extend to the Western Bank and follow 76 years of Israeli policy aimed at occupying, colonizing and annexing Palestinian land. According to UN institutions and human rights organizations such as Amnesty, this policy is at the expense of the Palestinian population’s right to exist and therefore of international peace.

Dutch supermarkets, such as Albert Heijn, are complicit in this systematic violation of the human rights of the indigenous Palestinian population. In Israel, Palestinian businesses are systematically discriminated against, in occupied Palestinian territories, agriculture takes place in places where Israel first expelled Palestinians and now steals water for irrigation. Nevertheless, Albert Heijn still sells many Israeli products, such as vegetables and fruit, and Israeli brands such as Garden Gourmet & Sabra Hummus.

We pressure supermarkets to stop selling Israeli products, and on customers to use their power to exert economic pressure. In doing so, we are not only following the wishes of many Palestinian organizations, but also following in the footsteps of the movement against Apartheid in South Africa.

Our work is voluntary. By donating to our cause, you help us organize direct actions, awareness campaigns and an effective lobbying strategy in favor of the right to exist of the Palestinian people. BDS is a Palestinian-led movement for freedom, justice and equality. BDS adheres to the simple principle that Palestinians are entitled to the same rights as the rest of humanity. Will you help?
