17 mrt online: Solidarity in the Kurdish and Palestinian cause. A tough conversation

In the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians and Turkey with the Kurds, it’s interesting to observe that Israel is openly supporting the Kurdish cause and Turkey is backing the Palestinians. While Turkey and Israel pledge their support for the minorities in each other’s countries, they oppress ‘their own’ minorities. In The Netherlands both conflicts lead to harsh debates and the positions that different groups take is often an obstacle for the emergence of a broad solidarity movement. In this program, which is organized by The Hague Peace Projects, DocP and the Amsterdam Peace Initiative we will analyze the problematic attitudes, and explore the questions and narratives that open the way for a more intersectional perspective in the Kurdish and Palestinian issue.
