Three panel discussions

In discussions on the future of Israel and Palestine, the so-called Two-state solution has long been the dominant paradigm. Although the implausibility of this strategy is by now generally accepted (usually phrased as being “on the brink of collapse”), official bodies such as the UN, the EU and most of their member states still pay lip service to the idea, without a feasible vision for its implementation. Meanwhile, the United States’ government has launched a new plan called the “Deal of the Century”, which essentially paves the way for Israel to annex much of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

At the symposium panel members and guests will have the opportunity to discuss other issues,   including whether apartheid is confined to the Occupied Palestinian Territory or whether, in the light of measures such as the Nation State Law , it can be said that Israel practises apartheid in Israel itself. Strategies for combatting Israel’s policies and practices will also be discussed, including the value of BDS and the future role of policy makers, academics and activists.
